Dear Member!

Due to continuous changes of the needs and tasks of an active scientific organisation, we would like to inform you that the current ISOLS by-laws require revision to accommodate these requirements within a legal framework.

Therefore, in accordance with our rules and regulations, the ISOLS Board Members have decided to convene an Extraordinary General Assembly within the EMSOS Annual Meeting 2018, on Friday May 11, 2018 in Amsterdam.

However, we would like to inform you, that personal attendance is not required to participate in the voting: in order to facilitate the voting in case you are unable to participate in the Extraordinary General Assembly, we have additionally introduced an online-voting system. The on-line voting system will be closed on May 4th, 2018, 23:59 hrs. (CET).

Please, click here to read the proposed by-laws.

In short, the changes of the by-laws will have the following implications:

  1. A further membership category of Sponsoring Members has been established to increase the societies’ income.
  2. International ISOLS Courses and academic ISOLS Fellowship have been defined.
  3. Due to an increasing number of international members the number of Board Members has been elevated to a maximum of 15 with continuous geographic diversity.
  4. Financial reporting in the context of budgeting upcoming international symposia will be reinforced.
  5. Membership fees will be processed on an annual basis as per January 1st, 2019.

Please don’t hesitate to contact Ms. Dagmar Serfezi via email (office@isols.info) should you have any questions or concerns.

Best wishes,

The Members of the ISOLS Board
